Vygotsky introduced a way to better explain relation between childrens learning and cognitive development known as the zone of proximal development. This level is when children are engaged, ZPD depends on full social interaction. He believed that a children could learning but with the help of a person.
Piaget
Cognitive Development theory was created by Piaget. In his theory there are four cognitive development stages:
1. Sensorimotor
2. Preoperational
3. Concrete Operational
4. Formal Operational Period
