s My name is Cindy Castaneyra, I was born and raised in Los Banos, California. Both my parents are field workers who emigrated from Oaxaca, Mexico to the United States. I come from a hardworking family as most Hispanic kids do. My parents instilled in me that hard work does payoff. I moved to Bakersfield, California as a Senior in High School. After graduating high school in 2009, I went to Bakersfield College, while I was in BC I interned in the Child Development Center. I graduated in 2014 with an Associates in Science Degree in Child Development. I have worked for the Boys & Girl's Club for 3 years, I was an activity leader and in the classroom environment I offered students avtivities full of Curriculum.
I transferred to California State University, Bakersfield to continue my studies and obtain a B.S. in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies. During my first year at CSUB, I began working for CA Mini Corps. This program gives college students an opportunity to be tutors to Migrant Students. This program is great for students who want to be teachers in the future they provide you with valuable information that will help as a first teacher. This program showed me how to work with a teacher, create lesson plans, and classroom managment skills. I graduated CSUB in the Spring of 2016. I am enrolled in the Multiple Subject Credential Program at CSUB as a Kern Urban Teacher Resident. |
