Differentiating a lesson
Students learn differently they have their own learning style
- Sentence frames: The teacher can provide sentence frame on the board before each lesson and this will help the students structure their writing or speaking.
- Deployment: If a group of children are having a difficult time to learn a concept, the teacher will pull them away and teach the concept in a different way.
- Centers: Children learn differently, the teacher can provide different tasks in different groups that can help identify the student’s weaknesses or strengths. This will also show what the student is capable of doing.
- Read a passage of text and answer related questions.
- Match vocabulary words to definition.
- At the beginning of the school year my class and I will set up individual and class goals and reach them by the end of the year.
- As a teacher I will analyze each student individually to find out what are their strength and needs.
- My students will perform an action which indicates their level of understanding of a concept, for example
- Thumbs up= I understand it
- Thumbs down= I don't understand it
- Thumbs side= I understand some
- I can also use yes/no cards, the students are asked a question and they hold up the yes/no accordingly.
